Points of Interest
This module allows you to create and manage point of interests within the BlueTrax system.
Points of Interest (POIs) are specific locations or areas that hold significance or interest within a geographic context. They serve as markers or waypoints on maps, allowing users to identify key locations, attractions, or landmarks.
Create POIs
To create POIs, navigate to POIs under tracking
Click the Map marker icon at the top left or the map
Add the POI Details below and click save
Name: The name attribute of a POI refers to the title or label given to the specific location or area of interest.
- Names are used to identify POIs within the BlueTrax system interface and in associated reports, alerts, or notifications.
- Providing descriptive and recognizable names for POIs helps users quickly identify and reference key locations in their operational workflows.
- Examples of names for POIs could include “Main Yard,” “Distribution Center,” “Service Station,” or any other relevant identifier based on the nature or purpose of the location.
Latitude: Latitude is a geographic coordinate that specifies the north-south position of a point on the Earth’s surface.
Longitude:Longitude is a geographic coordinate that specifies the east-west position of a point on the Earth’s surface.
Ensure both Latitude and Longitude are correct. They provide precise geographic positioning information, allowing the BlueTrax system to accurately locate and reference the point of interest on maps or in location-based calculations.
If you’re unsure of the coordinates, click the map icon next to the Latitude field. Then, select the desired point on the map where you want to assign the POI. The system will automatically fill in both the latitude and longitude for you.
Description:The description attribute of a POI provides additional information or details about the location beyond its name and geographic coordinates.
Descriptions may include relevant notes, instructions, contact information, or any other pertinent details about the POI.
